Estética de lo cotidiano, estética del cuidado
Everyday Aesthetics, Care Aesthetics
Abstract
In Yuriko Saito, everyday aesthetics interlinks with ethics by means of the so-called moral-aesthetic judgments, where the formal assessment of the practical object depends on how beneficial it is to its user. This interest in the person who has to make use of the artifact, bringing an experience of otherness, of virtually putting oneself in someone’s else position, connects with Hume's sympathetic functionalism, but goes beyond by extending to the vulnerable other that the welfare society tends to through the ethics of care. This allows us to consider the aesthetics of daily life in Saito as an aesthetics of care.
