Towards a conceptual understanding of green entrepreneurship
Abstract
There is a growing trend towards the creation of green businesses, in response to environmental problems. However, the literature highlights the need to better understand this type of entrepreneurships. In that sense, this paper analyzes the scientific literature related to green entrepreneurship from two perspectives: Individual and business. First, trends are described in this field of research considered as emerging and then a content analysis is performed to identify the main thematic domains. This scoping review includes 18 empirical articles published between 2010 and 2020 and indexed in the Scopus database. The results indicate that, from a business perspective, the literature focuses primarily on the analysis of drivers, practices and conditions for green entrepreneurship development. In contrast, from an individual perspective, studies address entrepreneurial intention. Furthermore, both perspectives were found to analyze the relationship between green entrepreneurship and innovation.
