Orientación de la gestión del conocimiento y rendimiento en las pequeñas y medianas empresas mexicanas

Abstract

En la actual literatura de las ciencias empresariales está emergiendo una nueva estrategia empresarial llamada orientación de la gestión del conocimiento, la cual permite a las empresas, primordialmente a las pequeñas y medianas (pymes), incrementar de manera significativa su nivel de rendimiento empresarial. Sin embargo, existe una limitación en la evidencia teórica y empírica sobre la importancia de esta estrategia para las pymes, aun cuando este constructo ha sido analizado ampliamente en la literatura como una estrategia que mejora el nivel de rendimiento empresarial. Así, el objetivo de este estudio es analizar la relación existente entre la orientación de la gestión del conocimiento y el nivel de rendimiento empresarial en las pymes, utilizando para ello una muestra de 368 empresas del estado de Aguascalientes (México) y utilizando el modelo de ecuaciones estructurales para analizar más detalladamente la relación entre estos dos constructos. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que la orientación de la gestión del conocimiento tiene una influencia positiva significativa en el nivel de rendimiento empresarial de las pymes lo cual permite concluir que las pymes mexicanas tienen un mayor nivel de rendimiento empresarial cuando tienen una mayor orientación de la gestión del conocimiento, que aquellas que aun no lo implementan.
