Abstract

This paper presents a modification of an open channel simulator with rectangular transverse section, adapted to a partially full circular section to study the one-dimensional flow dynamics and its operation as a manifold for liquid-gas separation. The simulator uses the Saint-Venant equations with implicit finite differences scheme, commonly denominated Preissmann”™s method, and the optimization method known as Levenberg-Marquardt to solve this kind of equation system. The simulator allows the simulation and the determination of the liquid and gas outlet flows with known inlet conditions. The carried out simulations are considered satisfactory, being observed a good stability of the proposed method.
