Abstract

The world of work is extremely harmed as a result of the global pandemic of the new coronavirus, COVID 19. Not only has it been, but is also a threat to public health, the economic and social effects endanger the world economy and the welfare of millions of people. In this sense, the impact that COVID-19 has caused in the main economies is described, through an analysis of the workforce, self-employed professionals and companies. The methodology used has been quantitative, descriptive, documentary, taking into account the statistics of the International Labor Organization, organizations that have to ensure the safety of people and the sustainability of companies and jobs, taking special measures for the global macroeconomic impact and making recommendations to stimulate the economy and employment. This pandemic brings two major aspects within society, one is the amount of unemployment due to the bankruptcy of a large number of companies, while the other is that society is understanding that we are fragile human beings within this viral process. Both entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals are among those most affected by the stoppage of economic activity. The state of concern about the global economic crisis has led to a halt in the world of work. The implications for companies and self-employed professionals are evident when their income is affected. Faced with the uncertainty of not knowing when they could open their businesses, some have had to close for good. Governments have taken urgent measures, very similar in all countries, to help combat the labor crisis and thus their companies do not reach a major disaster due to the economic consequences generated.
