Absorption capacity: Strategic integration between technological learning, resilience and business competitivenes
Abstract
The objective of this research is to propose a framework that integrates the variable business resilience into the absorption capacity model. A bibliographic review of the main work related to absorption capacity theory was carried out as a strategic integration between technological learning, resilience and competitiveness. The results achieved establish the importance of resilience within the absorption capacity model, in order to promote technological learning in organizations, under elements of disruptive environments and pursuing the generation of competitiveness indicators. The proposed model integrates three new theoretical constructs: (a) technology transfer mechanisms and technological learning tools, which optimize processes and resources; (b) knowledge absorption enablers influenced by disruptive environments, which will generate enterprise resilience capabilities; (c) elements of resource-based vision theory, which generate competitiveness. In this context, business resilience serves as a mediator variable between technological learning and competitiveness. As a result, business resilience is proposed as a regime of appropriability within the study model.
