Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to analyze the scientific literature on personnel training and firm ecological innovation, in order to determine how the relationship between employee skills and the likelihood of companies to develop innovation processes environmentally oriented has been addressed. With that aim, we performed a bibliometric analysis. The specific methodology used in this study is called “bibliographic link”. Two articles (a and b) present a bibliographic link when they have cited the same article (an article c) in their list of references. Results show that literature on personnel training and ecological innovation focus on five thematic clusters: a) internal capabilities for ecological innovation, b) environmental training and green supply chain management, c) environmental innovation, d) cleaner production, and e) employee learning. These results evidence that ecological innovation literature has a high conceptual association with environmental factors.
