THE EPHEMERAL SUCCESS PARADOX:

MANAGEMENT VS. PSEUDOMANAGEMENT IN VENEZUELAN ORGANIZATIONS

Keywords: Pseudomanagement, organizational pathology, business sustainability, critical hermeneutics, Venezuela

Abstract

ABSTRACT

This article examines Pseudomanagement as an organizational pathology that simulates professional management practices while systematically eroding business sustainability. Through a qualitative methodology of critical hermeneutics applied to a documentary corpus enriched by the author's two decades of field experience, this "antimodel" of management is deconstructed. The findings reveal that its apparent success constitutes an accounting fiction sustained by four dysfunctional pillars: short-termism, pathological centralization, systemic opacity, and the cult of unvalidated intuition. The discussion demonstrates how this model generates existential risks through the erosion of intellectual capital, innovation paralysis, and the accumulation of hidden tax liabilities. The paper concludes by proposing "Organizational Pathology" as an applied discipline to diagnose and treat this pathology, establishing it as both an ethical imperative and a survival requirement for the Venezuelan business ecosystem.
