Abstract

Psychology in education arises from the interest of pedagogy in the psychological foundations of the educational process, it seeks to understand the conduct, behavior and the learning process of each student respecting their individuality and approach as a bio-psychosocial being. Hence its importance in the teaching-learning process since through it the teacher will be able to understand how to learn to identify the different learning problems by knowing the characteristics of each of the students in order to plan the best strategies according to their needs. Based on these reflections, this article is presented whose purpose is to analyze the importance of psychology in university pedagogy. To this end, an exhaustive review of the different theories that address psychology is carried out in order to deepen and broaden the knowledge in the area. Although they analyze these issues based on their theoretical, methodological and instrumental contributions, they are also informed by their experiences of many years in teaching, research and professional practice.
