Abstract

In thematic terms, the research focuses on analyzing the motivations of travelers in the post-Covid 19 context in the city of Machala, Ecuador. The specific objectives of the study are threefold: to understand the motivations that drive travelers in this new reality, to identify the factors that influence their travel decisions, and to examine how tourism behavior has evolved in this scenario. The methods used included statistical analyses of surveys and relevant empirical data, as well as the review of specialized literature on post-pandemic tourism. The results obtained reveal the identification of behavioral patterns, changes in travel preferences and the adaptation of the tourism industry to the new demands and needs of travelers. Definitely, this study can provide valuable information for the tourism sector in Machala, allowing a better understanding of the motivations of travelers in the post-Covid 19 context and guiding, in policy makers, strategies for the recovery and adaptation of the tourism industry in this new reality. In conclusion, the study highlights the need for Machala to diversify its tourism offer and strengthen collaboration between public and private actors for an effective recovery of the sector.
