Development of an Interactive Application in R Shiny for the Visualization of Hospital Service Indicators at the Alfonso Villagómez Román Pediatric Hospital
Abstract
The article addresses the need for an interactive platform to represent service indicators at the Alfonso Villagómez Román Pediatric Hospital in Ecuador. A web application was developed in R Shiny to improve the visualization of these indicators. The objectives included the creation of the application, design of data warehouses, loading of relevant information and integration into administrative management. The justification lies in the importance of efficient management of hospital indicators and the technological potential in health. These indicators are crucial for evaluating the quality of healthcare and supporting informed decisions. The methodology ranges from planning to evaluation, with R Shiny for its ability to create interactive visualizations. The results include a successful web application, organized data warehouses and an integration of the hospital's administrative management. In conclusion, this work achieved its objective by creating a valuable tool for management and decision-making in the hospital environment, thus contributing to more efficient administration and optimization of resources.
