HEURISTIC TROUBLESHOOTING METHODS

Keywords: Heuristic methods, Heuristic theories, Heuristic strategies, Theories of heuristic procedures.

Abstract

Heuristics involves understanding the procedures for solving problems, particularly the mental and psychological operations, which are useful in the teaching and learning process. Therefore, the general objective of this research was to describe heuristic problem-solving methods, including Schoenfeld's Heuristic Strategies, Branford and Stein's Theory of the "Ideal" Heuristic Method, Horst Mulle's Theory of Heuristic Procedures, and metacognitive strategies. This research is scientifically supported by the theoretical contributions of authors such as Peredas, Pérez, Martínez, Aliseda, Bermejo, Beuchot, González, Guerra, Aguilar, Matute, Robotnikof, Olivé and González (2000), and others. The study was descriptive, with a documentary design. This study is aimed at students enrolled in the Bachelor's degrees in Business Administration (specializing in Industrial Management) and Education (specializing in Mathematics and Physics), both offered by the Rafael María Baralt National Experimental University (UNERMB), as well as students enrolled in the Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Accounting, offered by the University of Zulia, LUZ-COL campus. It concludes that heuristic problem-solving methods are effective when used, due to their ease of application and accuracy, utilizing mental structural operations that are useful in this interpretive process for constructing meaningful learning.
