Transnational mobility in the Objective 10 of the Agenda 2030
Abstract
This article analyzes the ways in which the 2030 Agenda approaches transnational mobility and its contribution to sustainable development from three perspectives: the macro perspective of the global world-system and migratory flows, the conceptual perspective of the terminology used and its significance, and the micro perspective of the social inclusion of transnational migrants and their relationships with their places of origin. As shown in the text, the overly generalist discourse of the 2030 Agenda, its emphasis on the management (and control) of migratory flows, and the lack of concrete measures limits the real scope that the 2030 Agenda could have in improving conditions of immigrants and refugees.
