School anxiety and its relationship with emotional intelligence in adolescence
Abstract
The aim of the study was to analyze the relationship and predictive capacity of emotional intelligence on school anxiety. The participants were 2,670 Chilean students of Secondary Education aged between 13 and 17 years old (M = 15,50; SD = 1,12), 55.2% girls and 44.8% boys. The assessment was carried out with the School Anxiety Inventory (IAES) and the Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS-24). The results confirm the relationship and predictive capacity of emotional intelligence on school anxiety in adolescence.
