Abstract

The study describes the factors that influence the recognition of the Caribbean cultural identity from the possibilities of curricular innovation and training projects in a public educational institution in Colombia. The qualitative approach was assumed, which allowed to know the perception and teaching practice through semi-structured interviews. It was concluded that the institution lacks active methodologies and training projects that address the problems of the context, contribute to the recognition of culture and identity construction processes. This makes it necessary to promote curricular innovation as a systemic process of resignification and collective participation, the self-realization of the ethical project of life and comprehensive training of students
