Cooperation and collaboration for construction of glossaries in virtual learning environments
Abstract
This article presents the experience of creating a glossary through cooperative work strategies in the Comunicación y Lenguaje curriculum unit, which is taught in the Supervised University Studies program (EUS), in the Núcleo Costa Oriental del Lago, Universidad delZulia. In their elaboration, the students contributed terms and expressions used in their daily communication, to then classify them according to grammatical and lexical categories used in the study of the Spanish language. The construction of the glossary was carried out in the period from April 2015 to April 2016. The theoretical contributions correspond to Johnson et al. (1999), Delgado and Solano (2009), Riel and Polin (2004), referring to cooperative and collaborative work in virtual learning environments. The use of this strategy facilitated a greater dynamism in the participation of university students of the NúcleoLUZ COL as part of their training process and made it possible to identify 184 words used by them. In the same way, it allowed the formation of an activity-based learning community, with labeling of contributions and ease of consultation by contributors and other current and future members of the virtual classroom. In addition, it fostered the emergence of a potential line of research in the area of linguistic communication, which will generate a diversity of aspects, considering the richness of the language in its different components.
