Resumen

Este artículo presenta una comparación metodológica de cinco índices multidimensionales de desarrollo y bienestar: Índice de Prosperidad (Prosperity Index Legatum), Boston CG (Sustainable Economic Development Assessment SEDA), Índice de Progreso Social (Social Progress Index SPI), World Happiness
Report (HPR) y Sustainable Society Index (SSI). El objetivo del trabajo consiste en dar a conocer las fortalezas y debilidades de cada índice para la medición del desarrollo. La comparación se hace con base a los siguientes aspectos: la relación entre las dimensiones y sus respectivas mediciones, el uso y combinación de mediciones objetivas y subjetivas, el uso de indicadores de
resultado, el enfoque de género y la desagregación territorial.

Abstract

This article presents a methodological comparison of five development and well-being indexes: Prosperity Index Legatum, Boston CG (Sustainable Economic Development Assessment SEDA), Social Progress Index SPI, World Happiness Report and Sustainable Society Index (SSI). The objective of this article is to make known the strengths and weaknesses of each index for measuring the development. The comparison is made under the following topics: the relationship between dimension and their respective measures, the use and combination of objective and subjective measures, output indicators, gender approach and territorial breakdown.
