KAZAKH HISTORICAL EPICS AND EPICAL TRADITION

Resumen

ABSTRACT

 

Historical epics have great significance in world literature. Kazakh historical epics were created by folk poets. In the study, authorial historical epics are compared with heroic poetry and historical epics. In the narrative, common motives are defined between the historical epics by folk poets and the heroic poetry; the attributes are listed differentiating the former from the heroic epics. The subject of this research is the historical epics made by folk poets, their place in the Kazakh literature, the ancient motives, epical traditions in the structure, plot of compositions of this category.

RESUMEN

 

Las epopeyas históricas tienen un gran significado en la literatura mundial. Las epopeyas históricas kazajas fueron creadas por poetas populares. En el estudio, las epopeyas históricas de autor se comparan con la poesía heroica y las epopeyas históricas. En la narrativa los motivos comunes se definen entre las epopeyas históricas de los poetas populares y la poesía heroica, se enumeran los atributos que diferencian a las primeras de las epopeyas heroicas. El tema de esta investigación son las epopeyas históricas hechas por poetas populares, su lugar en la literatura kazajo, los motivos antiguos, las tradiciones épicas en la estructura, la trama de composiciones de esta categoría.

Kuralay Kabdeshova (1990). Doctor of Philosophy student at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the M. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, specializing in literary studies. She works as a senior lecturer at the University of International Business (UIB). The topic of the Ph.D. doctoral thesis – “Author's historical epics: epic tradition, historical memory, the idea of liberation (based on the manuscript heritages of Zhetysu folk storytellers)”.

ZH RAKYSH, Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Zhumashay Rakysh (1970). A folklorist, expert on epic literature, textologist, bibliographer of folklore, a leading researcher in the M. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art and senior lecturer in the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, candidate of philological sciences. She has published 2 monographs, 1 textbook, 6 collective monographs, 5 source-books, 16 scientific books of folklore samples and over 90 articles. One of the compilers of a hundred volume edition “Words of the Ancestors” and the ten-volume edition “Anthologies of Steppe Folklore”.

P. AUYESBAYEVA, Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Pakizat Auesbaeva (1962). A folklorist, textologist, specialist in the field of non-fairytale prose and ancient manuscripts, a leading researcher in the M. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art and Ph.D. in the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor. She has published 2 monographs, 5 collective monographs and over a hundred scientific articles. One of the compilers of a hundred volume edition “Words of the Ancestors” and the ten-volume edition “Anthologies of Steppe Folklore”. She has participated in the over twenty research projects.

T. ALBEKOV, Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Toktar Albekov (1958). Expert on the history of Kazakh literature, folklorist-textologist, head of the manuscript department in the M. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, candidate of philological sciences. He is an author of 8 monographs, about 100 scientific books of folklore samples, about 300 scientific articles. He is a responsible editor, compiler of about 40 volumes of the hundred volume edition “Words of the Ancestors” and a ten-volume edition of “Anthologies of Steppe Folklore”.

K. ALPYSBAYEVA, Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Karashash Alpysbaeva (1953). folklorist, textologist, an expert on epic literature, an expert on Chokan Valikhanov’s folklore works, a leading researcher in the M. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, candidate of philological sciences. She is an author of 4 monographs, 5 collective monographs and over 100 articles. She is one of the compilers of a hundred volume edition “Words of the Ancestors” and the ten-volume edition “Anthologies of Steppe Folklore”.
