The Notion of Theatricality in the Soliloquies of the Dramaturgy of Cabrujas

Abstract

This work presents a descriptive analysis of how the notion of theatricality appears transfigured in the dramatic texts of José Ignacio Cabrujas, specifically in the soliloquies present in them. To compare this constant, we start from the conceptual indicators implicit in the definitions of the theorists Barthes, Pavis and Arana about what the phenomenon of theatricality involves; these are: the mark of the artifice, the visual unfolding caused by the enunciator, the corporeal iconicity and the ecumenism of sensual artifices. The process of the study was developed by analyzing the soliloquies chosen from the dramatic works of José Ignacio Cabrujas, identifying each of these elements directly in the text. It is concluded that in the soliloquies of the author under study there are the characteristics that transmit the notion of theatricality.
