PRESENCE OF THE ENTEROPARASITE URBANORUM SPP. IN CHILDREN UNDER 15 YEARS OF AGE, IN MILAGRO, GUAYAS, ECUADOR
Abstract
Urbanorum spp is an enteroparasite whose presence has been announced by several researchers since 1991, both in adults and children with intestinal syndromes, which until now has not been given importance. The presence of Urbanorum spp. in the intestines of children under 15 years of age, in the population of the city of Milagro, Guayas, Ecuador. It is an investigation with a quantitative approach, non-experimental, field, descriptive, cross-sectional design, it was demonstrated under the optical microscope at 10X and 40X by the direct method. Stool samples were obtained from the first 6 children of a population of 50 children from the Mariscal Sucre Parish belonging to the Milagro canton, through direct parasitological examination with physiological saline solution at the sample collection site; managing to verify and determine the presence of the microorganism with structure and morphology of Urbanorum spp. in the stool samples examined from an 8-year-old boy, liquid stools, without mucus or blood. The presence corroborates its existence with the morphology and structure described by other researchers from various countries; the existence of the relationship with certain proximal and distal health determinants is related to the low socioeconomic factor, without sewerage, or drinking water, elimination of excreta, which help their intestinal presentation
