Conocimiento y cumplimiento de protocolos en enfermería sobre el manejo de infecciones asociadas a dispositivos intravenosos
Resumen
Las infecciones asociadas a dispositivos intravenosos constituyen un problema relevante en la seguridad del paciente, debido a su impacto en la morbilidad hospitalaria, la prolongación de la estancia y el incremento de costos asistenciales. En este contexto, el objetivo fue analizar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre el manejo de infecciones en dispositivos intravenosos y el cumplimiento de protocolos en profesionales de enfermería del Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social y del Ministerio de Salud Pública. Se desarrolló una investigación cuantitativa, no experimental, transversal y explicativa, con una muestra de 120 profesionales de enfermería. Se aplicó un cuestionario estructurado con escala Likert de cinco puntos, cuya confiabilidad se verificó mediante alfa de Cronbach y análisis factorial. El procesamiento estadístico se realizó con SPSS, AMOS y RStudio, incluyendo análisis descriptivos, correlación de Pearson y regresión lineal múltiple. Los resultados evidenciaron adecuada consistencia interna y asociaciones significativas entre dimensiones, destacando el seguimiento y mantenimiento del catéter como principal predictor del procedimiento de instalación vascular. Se concluye que la calidad del cuidado continuo influye de manera determinante en la adherencia protocolaria y en la seguridad del acceso vascular.
