INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY IN UNIFAMILIAR DWELLINGS AT MARACAIBO AND SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPALITIES
Abstract
Through the analysis of the current situation of built spaces in unifamiliar dwellings, this research pretends to propose the elaboration of a designing methodology in order to improve indoor environmental quality in unifamiliar dwellings. The purpose is to expose new solutions in architectural design including its relationship with habitability conditions, identification with the environment and satisfaction of inhabitants”™ needs and/or users globally. Moreover, the proposal of theoretical-practical guidelines for architectural design based on indoor environmental parameters oriented to the construction of unifamiliar dwellings. The theoretical framework of the proposal considers the definition of indoor environmental quality which wide scopes incorporate new elements beyond the idea of comfort emphasizing those relative elements of spatial qualities and conditions of health. The proposal is based on a comparative study of the existing instruments by public offices operating in the area related to housing habitability, instrumental needs of these institutions and besides, the fulfillment of regulations as well as the contribution that architectural design and the construction system suggests by building enterprises, architects, engineers and professionals which are used nowadays.Downloads
