Teoría sociocognitiva para el análisis de textos expositivo-explicativos de estudiantes universitarios
Sociocognitive theory for the analysis of expositive-explicative textsof University students
Abstract
The aim of this study was to analyze socio-cognitive aspects in the written production of expository-explanatory texts of first semester students, the Language Workshop chair, Faculty of Humanities and Education, Universidad del Zulia. The theoretical approach was based on, Flower and Hayes (1981), Hayes (1996), Franco (2007), Beaugrande and Dressler (1997). The research was qualitative. The sample comprised students of modern languages, orientation and social studies, who were asked to produce an expository and explanatory text based on a topic belonging to their social and experiential world: “Water scarcity in Maracaibo”. Three texts were randomly selected. The analysis determined that in their production, the students showed influence of the socio-cognitive theory, reflecting in them the world of life, their situational context, describing a common reality between the writer and the reader, as well as affective traits and a communicative intention, novel and interesting information, wanting to communicate something to someone.
