Anal atresia and posterior amelia in guinea pig (Cavia porcellus). Case Report
Abstract
Anal atresia is a severe disorder that occurs during the posterior development of the intestine in mammals, where it has an inconspicuous disorder. The objective is to describe the cases of amelia and anal atresia in guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus). Three newborn guinea pigs were analyzed by external inspection, presenting pathological alterations, amelia of the left hind limb, which implies the total absence of this limb, as well as anal atresia, characterized by the absence of the anal orifice, absence of the anal sphincter and rectum. The cases were confirmed as anal atresia and posterior amelia in guinea pig.
