Basic education teachers' knowledge of Asperger's syndrome
Abstract
In order to guarantee the integration of children with disabilities into the regular classroom, in accordance with Venezuelan regulations regarding the care of people with disabilities, it is observed in the current educational context that teachers responsible for the education of these children must be familiar with the basic criteria related to disabilities, specifically Asperger's Syndrome. This documentary study aims to present theoretical, methodological, and practical foundations for educational intervention, seeking to raise awareness and strengthen the knowledge of primary school teachers regarding Asperger's syndrome, its specific characteristics, and appropriate psychoeducational strategies to address the needs of these children. The goal is to promote an inclusive environment that fosters learning and socialization, while reinforcing collaboration among educators, families, and healthcare professionals. This approach facilitates multidisciplinary interaction for an assertive approach, empowering teachers to feel more confident and prepared to implement strategies that benefit students, contributing to their holistic development and emotional well-being
