Abstract

From the dried fruits of Sterculia apétala Druce, by maceration with methanol, the crude methanolic extract (EMC) was obtained, this fractioned with ethyl acetate, the fractions were obtained: soluble (S1) and insoluble (I1), From extract S1, an oily fraction was obtained, which analyzed by CG-MS, allowed the identification of the alkaloid 4,5-epoxy-N-methyl- (5α, 6α) morfinan-6-ol and the terpene bicyclesesquifelandrene, both are reported for the first time for this genre; Methyl 14-methylheptadecanate and ethenonaphthalene were also identified. From the S1 fraction, by using spectroscopic techniques (IR, NMR), kaempferol-3-0-β-D- (6-coumaroyl)-glucopyranoside and a mixture of β-sitosterol/stigmasterol were identified. In fraction I1, the presence of phenolic, terpenic and carbohydrate compounds was determined.
