Resumen

El trasplante ortotópico de hígado (TOH) ha evolucionado con el paso del tiempo hacia un procedimiento con altas tasas de sobrevida. Esto, el desarrollo del tratamiento oncológico y la selección adecuada de pacientes por los criterios de Milán han ido colocando al TOH como una herramienta aceptada para el tratamiento del cáncer hepático tanto primario como metastásico. Sin embargo, algunos autores consideran estrictos estos criterios, impulsando su modificación e inclusión del comportamiento biológico del tumor, expandiendo así la elegibilidad de pacientes.
