Abstract

Literature can not be reduced, in its different narrative modalities, to its exclusive condition of artistic and creative product, since in it emerge, even without the author’s intention, a deep political and ideological content that gives an account, in an open or overlapping manner , of the power relations that are woven in the time and space where this cultural product is conceived, as well as of the belief systems that identify a specific time or society, all under the veil of “fictional literary discourse.” The objective of this article is to define the theoretical, epistemological and methodological bases that make possible the development of a research project that provides insights into the political and ideological content underlying 20th century Latin American literature, to land (later) in the study of particular cases.
