Fibromatosis gingival hereditaria y periodontitis agresiva en adolescente Wayuú
Resumen
Objetivo: Describir las características clínicas, histopatologías y manejo interdisciplinario de la fibromatosis gingival hereditaria y periodontitis agresiva en una adolescente Wayuú. Caso Clínico: Paciente femenina de 15 años de edad, etnia Wayuú, acudió a la consulta de periodoncia del Hospital Universitario de Maracaibo, refiriendo dolor espontáneo y provocado por la masticación, localizado en el sector posterior derecho. Al examen intraoral, se observó agrandamiento gingival severo difuso en el sector posterior, leve en la encía marginal y papilar del sector anterior, movilidad dental grado III en zona molar superior e inferior, escaso acúmulo de biopelícula y sin asociación con antecedentes médicos personales y familiares. Radiográficamente, se observó pérdida ósea localizada en el sector posterior, estableciéndose diagnóstico clínico fibromatosis gingival hereditaria y periodontitis agresiva localizada. Se realizó plan de tratamiento quirúrgico y de rehabilitación protésica. Conclusiones: La identificación temprana de las características clínicas de la fibromatosis gingival hereditaria y la periodontitis agresiva y su manejo adecuado en edades tempranas, mejora el pronóstico del paciente, ya que estas condiciones favorecen la destrucción del periodonto y la pérdida prematura de los dientes debido a la posibilidad de recidiva.Descargas
